Along with Brackets, opposition alignments comprise the second challenging scheme I’ve created. Here, like in astrology, we see the clock hands directly opposite to one another. But, unlike Brackets, where the clock hands are like two stubborn, disinterested people passively sitting at right angles to each other at the cafe table with an awkward and cold lack of friendliness; instead, here there’s an active, heated ferocity of two enemies directly staring each other down, with the aim to intimidate and destroy one another. However, there’s another take on this arrangement: that of a straight path or bridge across the clock, which could mean an opportunity or pathway arising out of or despite such an opposition of forces. Obviously then, you have a 180 degree angle between the hands as seen below:
Likewise, we can say here there is a person, situation, relationship or circumstance that is decidedly opposing or resisting you and that you need to do something about it; or it could be a heads-up that something similar is about to brew up soon, so be prepared. As for the opportunity thing, some random examples could be: consumers having a better choice of higher quality products due to competing companies racing each other to create better goods. As for the in-spite of idea, an example could be suddenly having to travel to another country due to study or work-related reasons, incidentally rescuing you from a drama-ridden home environment driven by particular visiting relatives; in either case, there’s a positive outcome arising even with the background friction.
I could elaborate further and even say that the straight path created could have a particular numerical meaning if especially the hour clock hand rests exactly within the mark of the hour position. For instance, with 6:00 AM or PM, I propose this could be telling us of a direct relationship between the numbers 6 and 12. In this case, the peace, tranquility and rest of the 6 has a relationship to the 12 (which also reduces to the expansive, creative and socially joyful 3), which, like the 9 and 10, can be seen as a finality or ending number (ie. clocks, zodiacs) but perhaps of a higher order; in any case, this could play out as something like: you’ve finally achieved a massive goal/victory involving self-expansion (12) due to which you can now take it easy and enjoy life (6). After 6:00, the only other setup I’ve seen coming close to having the hour hand exactly on a number seems to be 4:55, with the hour hand on the 5 and the minute hand on the 11; so again, there’s a link here between the intense, multifaceted, revolutionary 5 and the wakening, illuminating, laser-lightning live-wire 11. Possibly, the sudden insights (11) one gets leads to a revolutionary way of thinking (5), for instance. Just to be clear, here I’m only talking about the actual clock numbers and not the minutes they represent: like with 6:00, the minutes read as :00, but we’re talking about the 12, or if 1, then the number 1 and not :05 minutes.
